21. The idea of it all
This past weekend I saw one of my childhood loves and current musical talents, Niall Horan. I would say everyone’s favourite Irishman, but Paul Mescal exists so he’s got some competition. It’s not the first time I’ve written about One Direction let alone the fangirling side of my heart (65-75% of it still present-day). Being between the years of 2010 and 2015 were the golden years for a teenage girl in my opinion. I would know, I was there, when my biggest concern was picking which One Direction picture from Pinterest looked best as my screensaver.
You’d be so lucky (astonished and embarrassed) to attend a concert with me, the screaming, the tears, the elation during and the depression after, what a joy! And with the background you now have, I’m sure you’re not surprised when I say it was a common fantasy to be swept off my feet after running into Louis (Tomlinson) in Melbourne (he lives in London) and he’d ask me (14 years old) if I wanted to come backstage after the concert (he’s 23 years old). I know I’m not alone and I’m aware it’s delusional, yet it’s great fun. Hence, my excitement about the book-to-movie adaptation of The Idea Of You, based on a Harry Styles fan-fic, won’t surprise you either.
The Idea Of You, starring and produced by Anne Hathaway is the perfect film about an accidental meeting between a Young Pop Star and the Normal Older Lady, that turns into a love story. I won’t tell you the synopsis, but I will tell you that I have watched it three times. I highly recommend this movie if you’re looking for a rom-com, if you’re feeling like life’s too much and you just want a movie that doesn’t require you to think at all, or if you’re a fellow fangirl who wants to see someone (a fictional character) finally live out the dream you’ve been dreaming forever. Plus Anne Hathaway is stunning and I’ve loved seeing how happy she’s been on the press run for this film.
One of my new favourite internet crazes is the White Boy of the Month, as it seems there’s a new white male celebrity who is the internet’s favourite monthly (shock). Nicholas Galitzine is officially my white boy of the month, however, I’ve got enough to say about my internet crushes to substantiate another blog post another time. For now, enjoy the movie.
